FRANKENSTEIN
-
The Piece
This mask was created for the production of Frankenstein performed by the students at EHS theater. The photography is by Owen Leavey, Jeff Perrin, and Emma Brott.
-
The Process
This mask was created by molding a cast material to an actor's face, trimming the excess, adding foam to build up different portions of the face, adding more cast material, and then finally, adding shadows and highlights with paint.
-
The Narrative
There are two different sides to the mask: a monster and an old man. This mask is supposed to represent how they are both one in the same, how humans can resemble monsters and how monsters can resemble humans.
-
The Connection
This mask exemplifies how a person’s view of a monster is actually just a manifestation of themselves.
