COSTUME CRAFTS

  • Costumes

At UNCSA, I also had the opportunity to work in the costume shop. During my time there, I did a lot of stitching, distressing, and costume crafts. I am including costumes and costume crafts in my portfolio in order to show my versatility. For Sweeney Todd, I distressed all of the workers’ uniforms.

  • Distressing

I have distressed clothing items for several UNCSA productions, but I thought I’d focus on the worker uniforms. They started out as clean and pressed coveralls, but I died, stained, and distressed them using a variety of techniques.

  • Another Example

I also distressed the skirt and shirt for the poor beggar woman in Sweeney Todd.

  • Ruffles and Ruching

I made the frills and did the ruching for the ivory dress in Amadeus.

  • Skirts

I made several of the skirt layers on the red dress for Sweeney Todd.

  • Costume Crafts

I dressed up this plain hat with feathers and ribbon. This is just one example of the many costume crafts I did as part of the costume shop at UNCSA.
